What Motivates Me?

I am asked all the time what motivated me to get in shape and what motivates me to stay in shape.  The answer is quite simple.  I want and need good health so I feel good about myself, to inspire and motivate those I coach,  but mainly to make sure my health is top notch so I can be the best husband and father my family deserves.   I want to be the dad that can do ANYTHING with his kids and not feel I am too old or out of shape to do it.  The ability to go out and run and play with my family in the yard or in the park creates priceless memories.

My daughter was going on one year old when we decided to make our lifestyle change.  We needed to be a good example to her and our extended family so we took the plunge.  Was it easy when we started?  Definitely not!!  It really does take commitment to not give in to temptations and it is hard to break those bad habits.  The thing that kept me on track was seeing the results from that commitment.  Watching the fat melt away and feeling so much better motivated me every day to push “play” and eat properly.  The longer you commit to it, the easier it gets.  I don’t crave those processed,greasy, nasty, sugary foods any more, because I know how awful I would feel if I ate any of those things.

It is a complete lifestyle change… I live a very hectic lifestyle, but I make fitness and good nutrition a requirement in my life!  It is very important to do so.  Not only for your health, but for your friends and family as well.  If I can do it, if people that have lost over 100 pounds on Beachbody programs can do it, or if people who can’t walk and need to modify the moves for P90X can do it… ANYONE CAN!  I hear all the time from people “I can’t” or “I don’t have time” or “it’s too hard” or “It is too expensive to be healthy”.  I want everyone to trow those excuses out the window.  YOU CAN!  You need to make this a priority.  Daily exercise and good nutrition will help your productivity, mood, and self esteem… and will keep you healthy which will save you a TON of money on medical and pharmacy bills!  It is so incredibly important.  Do it for your family, do it for your friends, do it for YOU!  Say “I CAN” and “I WILL” when it comes to your health.  You can do it!  Tekoa and I are here to help you on your journey.  If you need the extra boost of motivation, contact us and we will help you get started and stay on track.  If you are already part of our team and on Facebook you will know that we have an amazing private Facebook Group where we all help each other and motivate and encourage each other to press on.  If you do not have a Facebook I highly recommend you create one so you can join our group!  It is a wonderful place to connect with others.
