Schedule Your Day!

One of the biggest reasons people don’t workout is because they say they don’t have time, but the reality is they just haven’t made the time.  You NEED to make exercise a priority and part of your routine.  Exercise and proper nutrition will keep you healthy, put you in a better mood, help your stress levels, give you energy and even help you sleep better!

I am the first to admit I have screwed up in this area a few times and in the last couple months I have let one small exception here and one there change my daily routine completely!  My schedule was all out of whack and it made it very easy to say “I don’t have time”.  I have been wanting to post at least 4 new blog topics per week, but I “didn’t have time”.  I wanted to workout in the morning, but I “didn’t have time”.  Well I am here to prove that we all have time.  I work a full time job, plus have my own business, and I am a coach!  I am a very busy guy.  So what am I doing to overcome the “I don’t have time” disease?  I am scheduling my day precisely.  NO EXCUSES.  No more hitting “snooze” in the morning.  When my alarm goes off it is time to get up!!  I am writing this blog right now where in the past I was saying “I don’t have time”, well I am happy to say that this morning I wrote this blog, I worked out, and I sent a weekly coach check-in email to my team… all before I went into work!  I MADE THE TIME!  Now I know some of you are thinking “yeah but it is so hard for me to get up in the morning!”  Well you are talking to the guy that will hit “snooze” for 2 hours if you give him the chance.  I am definitely not a morning person, but it is about setting out to do it and making it happen.  When you set your alarm for a certain time and hit snooze you are lying to yourself!  Don’t plan on sleeping past your alarm time… make that the time to get up!  That is what I had to teach myself and I am SO glad I did.  My days are now much more efficient!

For me time with God and my Family are very important so I make sure I have time for both built into my day.  I have listed below how I fit hectic lifestyle into one day.  I hope this can help you plan how you go about your day to day routines.  It isn’t easy, but just like the workouts it takes commitment!

Here is my daily schedule to include times for my nutrition as well.  I have to keep my body fueled!

5:30 AM – Awake and Pre-workout

  • Devotions/Personal Development

6:15 – 7:30 AM – Workout

7:30 – 9:30 AM

  • Recovery/Breakfast
  • Shower
  • Pack Food
  • Emails / Coaching
  • Blog Post

9:30 AM – Work

10:00 AM – Snack #1

12:30 PM – Lunch

3:30 PM – Snack # 2

5:30 PM – Go Home!

  • Daddy and Daughter time

6:00 – 6:30 PM – Dinner

6:30 – 7:30 PM – Emails / Coaching / Business

7:30 PM – 8:00 PM – Family time and put Alathea to bed

8:00 PM – Coaching

8:30 PM – Wind down time with Tekoa

9:00 PM – Snack # 3

10:00 PM – Bed Time!!
